2025 CFCC Student Art Exhibition Call for Art
2025 Cape Fear Community College Department of Fine Art Student Exhibition
Cape Fear Community College Department of Fine Art is seeking submissions for the 2025 CFCC Student Exhibition, an annual juried show featuring art by currently enrolled students from across the college.
- Deadline for submissions February 18, 2025
- Exhibition March 17, 2025 to May 1, 2025
- Opening Reception March 21, 2025 6-9PM
Eligibility:
- All students enrolled at CFCC during the Spring Semester of 2024 through the Spring Semester of 2025 are eligible for entry into the show.
- Works must have been completed within the past 2 years.
- Submitted artwork does not need to be created as part of a class assignment.
- Works that have been previously displayed as part of the CFCC Annual Student Art Show are ineligible for submission.
- Works must be original. Mass-produced or photocopies of originals are ineligible, with the exception of works in which copied or appropriated images are central to its design.
Entry Guidelines:
- Electronic Submission: Submit entries electrically – from February 1-18, 2025. NO ENTRIES
WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. - Image Format: Submit JPEG images no larger than 3 MB each. Label each file with the artist’s
name, title, media, size of the work, and price (if for sale). - Submission Limits: You may submit a maximum of 2 pieces per category (Ceramics, Digital
Media/Graphic Design/Illustration, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking,
Sculpture, and Two-Dimensional Design). - Exterior measurements of single 2D works, including the frame, must not exceed 44”
- 3D works must not exceed 48” on the longest side or 84” in height.
- Sculptures and other three-dimensional works must be free standing and stable.
- Large three-dimensional works must be portable by 2 people.
- Works intended for wall display must be framed and wired for hanging. Exceptions will be made for work that is not framed as part of its design. These pieces must be submitted with display hardware along with detailed instructions for the method of its hanging.
- Submission Deadline for Accepted Works: Once notified by the juror, deliver display-ready
works (framed, wired, and ready to hang) to the gallery between February 25 – March 3, 2025,
between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. - Assistance: If you need help with matting, framing, wiring, etc., contact an art professor for
guidance. - Matted unframed work will not be accepted.
- Wet or damaged works will not be accepted.
- Works may not be hung from the ceiling.
- Artist Responsibility: Artists are responsible for delivering and picking up their artwork.
- Artwork Pickup: After the exhibition, collect your artwork from the WWD Gallery between May
5–9, 2025. Sign out your artwork upon retrieval. CFCC is not responsible for artwork left after this
date. - Handling Policy: WWD/CFCC will handle all artwork with care but is not responsible for any
damages incurred during storage, installation, or the exhibition. - Usage Permissions: By submitting your artwork, you grant WWD Gallery and CFCC permission
to use images of your work for promotional and advertising purposes. - Judging: Selection and awards are at the juror’s discretion.
- Entry Form: An entry form will be emailed with the notification. This form must accompany your
physical submission of accepted work.
